Recycling disposable coffee capsules: myth or reality?

Recycling disposable coffee capsules: myth or reality?

After massive environmental awareness in the last decade, single-use coffee capsules have been strongly criticized for their negative impact on the environment. This is referred to as an ecological disaster.

A few figures to start with: Every minute, about 39,000 capsules are produced worldwide, of which 29,000 end up in landfills, i.e. 3/4 of the capsules. This is equivalent to about 20 billion capsules produced each year, of which 15 million are thrown into nature.
